The Protagonist - Glass Neon Sculpture
Another ode to book reading! This sculpture came about from the opportunity to design a piece of work for a the Flora window gallery in West End, Brisbane. Observing someone deep in reading has such a beauty to it, where are they, what year is it, who are they? The idea of making the reading woman as a neon was to symbolize the the inner glow one gets when getting lost in their imagination in a book opposed to the external reflected glow one gets when lost in the world of technology. The Protagonist has a peaceful presence that seems to endear all who encounter her.
Sculpture Designed by Rebecca Cunningham, Glass Neon fabricated by Bremner Visual.
The Neon figure is mounted inside clear acrylic with wall mounting option already installed on the back of the acrylic. Being predominantly Glass tubing inside an Acrylic frame this sculpture is fragile to transport. Transportation costs outside of Brisbane, Gold Coast and Northern Rivers will need to be arranged between the artist and the buyer.
