Daughter of Grace

$2,700.00

Ink Painted with a stick on paper

76 x 57cm - Framed floating in an elegant Black Shadow Box Frame with Art Glass

This particular spot is by a spring on the Black Mountain Unplugged property under Kalkajaka also known as Black Mountain. By the spring is a natural pool the shape of a bathtub and two to three times as deep. It’s a most refreshing offering to your body and spirit in the hot and humid days of Far North Queensland.

In this painting Abbie McGregor, longtime friend and muse, stands by the pool of water in a humble pose of acknowledgement. She draws our attention to the body of freshwater, the very essence of life, with her hands. Flying out of the pool are three white faced herons, symbols of grace. This painting was the final piece I completed for the series DAUGHTER. To me symbolises the journey of creation I had just been through to complete the body of work. The rising of consciousness - the three birds flying up, out of the landscape - my biggest inspiration, only to land to start the process all over again. The cycle of life, creation and of all living things.
