DAUGHTER
NOW EXHIBITING AT DUST TEMPLE
OCTOBER 7TH - NOVEMBER 9TH
Rebecca Cunningham presents “Daughter”, her newest body of work. Using nothing more than a stick and a pot of ink she conjures wondrous images, inspired by her daydreams and explorations of the Australian East Coast. This exhibition's captivating narrative prompts introspection, inviting audiences to explore the profound interconnectedness between our environment and our emotions. Held at the renowned Dust Temple gallery, this show promises a visually and emotionally immersive encounter, leaving you with the feeling that you just might start singing with the birds after experiencing her paintings.
A long-time arts worker and practitioner in varying disciplines, Cunningham’s observations of the human and non-human world culminate in thoughtful productions that celebrate movement, line, and environmental intertextuality.
Born and raised on Australian soil, the sights, sounds and native inhabitants of this land are all deeply ingrained in her psyche. Her musings and daydreams are filled with the symbology of Australian Flora and Fauna. If you look long enough the stories of the paintings will tell themselves.
